Absolutely!! An epidural is an intervention that increases your risk or receiving more interventions. Education ahead of time is really helpful for knowing what to expect when you know having an epidural might be something you want. When you get an epidural you are also unable to move the lower half of your body, making position changes to help the effectiveness of your laboring, difficult or impossible. I can help you change positions and stay "active" to help make your labor more efficient.

It is all about what aspects of YOUR labor you want me to prioritize documentation, and what parts you think support will be more helpful. As someone who has attended many births I know the natural flow of the hands on AND hands off nature of a doula. During the hands off portions I will document what I can, while during the hand on portions giving you all the support you need. I also ALWAYS want partners to get involved. In doing this my hands are free when he is lovingly supporting you.

It truly depends on due dates, and what my family needs from me durring a month. Some months I can take more births than others. I do however like to keep my workload intimate so I can dedicate as much time as possible to each mama. If you are thinking about hiring me as a doula (or birth photographer) I highly recommend reaching out as soon as possible.
